Sienna Braun, 9 years old
When you meet 9-year-old Sienna Braun, it’s difficult to imagine her lying in a hospital bed at Seattle Children’s battling cancer — not once, but twice.
Sienna radiates energy with her infectious smile and sparkling personality. She is so full of life it’s hard to believe she’s spent hundreds of days in the hospital and received a stem cell transplant. Sienna was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in May 2014. She went into remission after 28 days of chemotherapy, but relapsed in July 2015. Sienna started a rigorous round of chemotherapy to get her cancer back into remission, followed by more chemotherapy and five rounds of radiation to her body and brain. She received a stem cell transplant in 2015 and recently celebrated being one-year post transplant. Now, she’s looking forward to her ninth birthday. Sienna is cancer free. |
